Ohio's Top 20

Criteria for OhioWrestler.com's Top 20:

The Tournament Director or acting representative from the tournament must send in a full list of all placers for their tournament.
This reporting list must also include the total number competing in each weight class.

Some tournaments only place 4, in this case only the top four point places are used.
Check the entry form or contact the Tournament Director prior to the tournament for wrestle-back placement.

Novice tournaments or Novice Divisions in TOP 20 tournaments will not qualify for points.

If the tournament weight class does not match the TOP 20 LIST weight class, placers will be placed in the next weight class up unless tournament weight class is within 1-2# or 2% of TOP 20 weight class, (weigh-in sheets will not be accepted as proof of weight)

If wrestler competes in more then one weight class &/or division, points will be awarded only for the placement in the lowest/youngest - Weight class/Division competed in (even if placed higher in an elevated WC/Div)

If wrestler competes in a higher weight class either because he was bumped up or by decision of parent, his points will still be assigned to his lower weight class as long as it does not surpass the following rules.

If a wrestler places in 4 straight events at a higher weight/age, all his previous points will move up with him to the new weight class/division to accommodate the growth of the athlete..
Same thing applies to a wrestler that has lost weight/gotten in better shape and dropped a weight class, 2 straight events at the lower weight class moves points down to new group.

Until the wrestler has wrestled in 5 tournaments the points will be assigned to the lightest / youngest WC presented by the tournament Director that he/she competed in.  No choosing weights, I will ignore the request, "He wrestled in 3 at 65# and 2 at 60#, I would like him to be in the 65# WC so he is listed on the TOP 20 List."

Placers will be awarded points by the following table;
